Forever and Always

Now that I've finally gotten a decent check from working over spring break, I went on a mini shopping trip! I wasn't aiming to buy much of anything, just browse. I actually found some cute basics at TJ Maxx. I was there for so long drooling over some gorgeous purses they had in stock, but we all know I can't afford anything right now as a poor college student. My basic (read: pretty uninteresting) buys are down below, basically just showing you the colors and such; I'm trying to slowly but surely add color into my wardrobe. (And I also added a new baby to my collection of mugs! Always looking for more. This one is of Paris.) Anyway, here is what I wore today while out gallivanting. Another rainy day... Spring must be right around the corner! My severe lack of posting has been due to my rising stress level - midterm week is here! Spring break starts this Friday (at exactly 10:20am, woohoo!) so I've just got to make it until then...

The Days Go By

I slept in until 11am this morning, and it felt so, so good. So far, today has been filled with coffee, cuddling with my kitties, refusing to shower... Pretty much the norm when I come home on weekends.

Loving... The natural light I've got in my dorm room. We have a huge window and, throughout the day, no lights are necessary to brighten up the room! Love.

Hating... Early classes. They're such a buzz kill! Can't stay up late the night before, and god knows I am not a morning person in the least. Coffee helps me get along, but I often find myself daydreaming (or actually dreaming because it's not that hard to doze off) about being back in my cozy bed, shutting my eyes...

Craving... EVERYTHING from Nasty Gal. I can't stop browsing and drooling and wishing. Still no update on the progress of the money tree...

I have an issue with looking directly into the camera lens. I'm trying to be artistic, damn it! Anyway, I decided to tease my unwashed hair today. You probably can't tell because I'm so frightened of change! I also tried to do a bit of a winged eyeliner with my cream liner, but again, you probably can't tell. I'm so scared to try anything new. I'm just trying to pass the time...

Passing the time doing pointless things is bloody awful.

I've spent time doing makeup, removing it, and doing it again.

I've spent time trying to rap as quickly as Nicki Minaj.

I've spent time drinking coffee and staring at my phone, hoping that if I look at it long enough, it will ring.

I am awaiting the phone call that is basically going to decide what I will be doing from now until May... Will I be in school? Will I not be in school? They're waiting til the last minute to tell me, as the semester starts tomorrow and if I'm going to be moving in, it will be tonight. Talk about stress! I was used to the idea of being back in school; learning again, living in a dorm with all my friends, having a set schedule. Then when I learned that I may not be going back because of a lack of open housing, I got used to the idea of staying here, at home, picking up a second job and applying again next fall. Now, I don't even know what I want the outcome of the phone call to be. Cross your fingers that I end up liking whichever outcome!

PS I need this ring in my life so badly!

EDIT: THE LADY JUST CALLED ME. I'M MOVING IN EITHER TONIGHT OR TOMORROW. I'M SHAKING AND CRYING AND SO EXCITED TO BE BACK AT SCHOOL SOON!

I'm Different, I Can't Base What I'm Gonna Be Off of What Everybody Isn't

01. Keeping up on my readings... magazines, that is. It's a beautiful sunny day, but I am holding myself hostage in my bedroom. It may look pretty outside, but the truth of the matter is that it is somewhere around 19F degrees. I'd much rather spend my day under my comforter drinking warm coffee (read: third cup of it) than freezing my butt off outside! I am not moving until I go see the boy tonight. I'll deal with the cold just for him ;)

02. Decided to go without makeup or styled hair for these photos. Fresh out of the shower! It may not look the greatest, but it's good to give your hair and face a break sometimes. Idea inspired by Christina.

Fly Away, Fly Away to What You Want to Make

01. The lighting in my house totally sucks! I was forced to prance around the house and find a decent spot, resulting in different backgrounds of my pictures. Sorry! Anyway, today is a super lazy day. No work, so I'm out and about shoveling (and when I say shoveling, I mean prancing around in my Coach boots and eating snow while everybody else shovels), playing video games, and sipping hot cocoa.

02. Everybody is snowed in and that means I haven't stopped online shopping. Well, browsing, wishing that I had a money tree in my backyard that I could totally go rape. Urban Outfitters, Calico, Zara, YESSTYLE, it seriously doesn't end! Totally unfair. Which brings me to my next point... I am never buying anything from the Jessica Simpson Collection online ever again! I bought two pairs of the Dany, which is basically Jeffrey Campbell shoes, just cheaper. I was excited for them because not only were they on sale, but they're freaking cute! Well, I took them out of the box and they are stupid high! They gave me a good 5 inches added to my height. I felt like a hooker; a high-class hooker, but a hooker nonetheless. So I'm returning both pairs, but returning items to that site is just complete madness! They like to make it difficult. Blahhh.

03. School update: Oh gosh, I am so stressed! I've been on the waiting list ever since I applied about a month (or two?) ago and I've still heard absolutely nothing from the housing offices. I called and they basically told me that every room has been assigned and I'm out of housing. There's no way that I can afford an apartment, and commuting would be obscene because I live a good hour and a half away from campus. Deadlines have already passed for applying to local schools, so I'm pretty much screwed on the whole school front for next semester. Who knows, maybe the housing office will call me before school starts and something opened up? Or maybe I'll grab a second job and live at home until next fall and have an actual chance at being at school. WHO KNOWS. It's a huge mess.

01. Not really sure why I look orange. The colors are off because the lighting in this room sucks! But I've got no where else that's as easily accessible. Anyway... In case you haven't noticed, I've started to compile a resolutions list in my sidebar for the year of 2011. This year, I will totally emerse myself in becoming better and following that list! I want to get things done for once. I believe in myself.

02. I am finally caught up in Gossip Girl and all I have to say is... LILY VAN DER WOODSEN IS EVIL. Can't believe I now have to wait until January 24th for the next episode!

Au Revoir to 2010

01. Oh, what a fabulously sunny day this is! I really expexted the clouds to be out and about, scouting our small little New England town, threatening us with the possibility of snow. But I'm happy that quite a bit of the snow seems to be melting!

02. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but how cute is my new sweater? This photo was actually taken in the dressing room the day I bought it (I'm far too lazy to make myself look decent enough for pictures tonight!) I tried on a whole pile of potential sweaters but this was the clear winner out of the bunch. I don't normally do turtlenecks but this darling was loose in all the right places and fits me perfectly the way I'd like. I've come to the conclusion that I own too many articles of clothing that are gray, tan, or black, but I love my neutrals. The search has been on for the perfect bulky sweaters to keep me warm in this terrible Massachusetts winter, so this baby crosses one item off my list!

03. I really wish I had a beautiful outfit to show you for New Years Eve celebrations, but tonight will be a night of sweatpants. I'm on the schedule to work tomorrow at 5:30am. I still plan on staying up until midnight to watch the ball drop and celebrate with a glass of champagne and my second New Years kiss with my boyfriend, but I assume I'll be in bed sometime before 1am. So sad... At least I can hope for good tips tomorrow morning from customers feeling sorry for me!

04. Last but certainly not least, thank you to my wonderful boyfriend who made 2010 the best year I could ever ask for. Yay for being a giant mush ball right now!

01. Layers, layers, layers are my best friend right now! It is freaking cold outside and that makes a very unhappy Aimee. In addition to finding items in my closet that actually match to layer, I end up looking like a puffalump all bundled up! Which is my reason (other than having nothing else to do) for going shopping in a bit! All the gift cards I recieved for Christmas are totally going to come in handy today. I have to remind myself that I need basics to help my wardrobe out! Sweaters I can layer, long sleeved shirts with a bit of flair, perhaps some outerwear.

02. I feel like a terrible, terrible blogger lately. Tell me it isn't so! This whole past couple of weeks have been a bit crazy, having me run around picking up last-minute gifts and getting ready for all the Christmas gatherings! I feel so off track in the whole blogging world. Hopefully I'll be able to blog a bit more soon because, quite honestly, I miss it!

03. With 2010 coming to a close, it's really got me wondering... What are your resolutions for the new year? Mine so far: revamp my closet, make the deans list, learn how to do a pretty smokey eye, and become more patient.

Shenanigans

Wish I could be all cool and pose outside in the snow in a pretty outfit, but no! No photographer, no tripod, no motivation. So instead, here is a pointless outfit of the day because I am all cozied up in a big sweatshirt, leggings, and slippers. I should be cleaning the mess that has become my room, but instead I've been up to this mumbo jumbo. I am a true procrastinator.
