Kidult

French graffiti artist Kidult seems to have a problem with high end clothing stores and their "capitalist their" designers.

First Celine and now Marc Jacobs... Who do you think is next?

Fluffy vs Thakoon

"For us, its not so much worrying about our weight but about working, getting a show, a good show, a good season. That is why the model lounge and some agencies have fantastic events before hand to prep their girls because ultimately you need it to survive - mentally and physically. I would say its more heartbreaking to hear you didn't get confirmed for Thakoon than it is to hear your pet Fluffy died, like seriously, Fluffy is in a good place - YOU ARE NOT!"

Can't help but to be enviously intrigued by this girl's life.

"Seduction"

This was by far my favorite Super Bowl commercial and definitely the one that got the most laughs in the room. Hilarious.

Viktor & Rolf SS2012 Backstage

What captures my attention about fashion is not only the runway shows but what happens before and after. I love seeing the commotion backstage of girls getting dolled up and the last minute perfect touches. All of the work that goes into it makes me appreciate fashion a hell of a lot more.

Here's a great video of Viktor & Rolf backstage their Paris SS12 fashion show. I love the dramatically cheesy action music that plays over the backstage craziness.

Best Dressed: Beyonce

Though I missed the VMAs due to power outages (thanks, Irene...), I certainly got a recap of all the fashions on the red carpet. This weeks Best Dressed really stood out to me.

Beyonce has sported some serious fashion in the past, but she looked absolutely stunning at this year's VMAs. This Lanvin gown would looks amazing on Beyonce; it suits her skin color, hair color and body.

Speaking of body, she's totally preggers! I am so happy for her and her hubby. Nothing makes a woman prettier than a pregnant glow. Not that Beyonce needs anything in her favor to make her more beautiful than she already is. Congratulations to the happy couple.

She's even got the pregnant-belly pose. Super cute!

Closet Collage

Please tell me you've heard of Closet College. Please?

Well if you haven't, shame on you. But alas, I'm here to tell you all about Jessie Cohen and her spectacular site. Jessie creates fab inspiration through her collages. She takes the latest runway looks, red carpet and celebrity styles, find finds her own background piece by piece, and morphs it all into pure amazingess. Find out more about her in the little interview I cured up with Jessie.

Your collages are very inspiring! How long have you been creating collages?
Thank you! I've been collaging since I was about 8 or 9 but I just started my blog in October. Its one year anniversary is coming up! I collaged everything, whether it was school notebooks, birthday cards, clipboards at camp, or my bedroom walls.

Have they always been fashion-based?
I've always loved fashion so I used a lot of images from fashion magazines. The collages were fashion-based but not on purpose. I only started the runway tie-in when I started my blog.

What is your schedule like throughout the day?
I'm a college student and I have a part time job so my days can get very hectic! I go to class, then to work, and then go home to collage and do homework. If it's closer to the weekend I'll go out for dinner with my friends or stop by an event which is always fun. But during the day I'm running around a lot.

What is your dream career?
I've always wanted to work at a magazine. Right now I'm interning as much as possible to get hands on experience.

Who or what do you look to for style inspiration?
Everything! Movies, music, TV shows, magazine editorials, internet videos, blogs, you name it. You never know when or where you'll discover something new.

How do you describe your personal style?
I would describe my personal style as classic with a twist. I'm drawn to neutrals like white, navy, and black, and half of my wardrobe is striped tops. To make it more interesting I like mixing in something fun or unexpected. I just got a pair of leopard slippers that I wear with everything! It's those little details that I love the most.

You have been chosen to attend NYFW courtesy of Tumblr (super exciting!). How else has your blog gotten you noticed?
I can't wait! Tumblr has been the hugest supporter of my blog and added me to the Spotlight section of the fashion directory when it launched earlier this summer. That was a big moment. And over the summer it was featured on Stylecaster and most recently Fashionista, which I couldn't be more thrilled about! I love the work I share on my blog but it's such a treat to find out that other people like it too. The support has been overwhelmingly positive, it's really exciting!

Now feast your eyes on some of my favorite pieces of her work.

SJP

The one and only fashionista Sarah Jessica Parker is the covergirl of Vogue for the month of August.

Though SJP and her fashions are the focus of the photos, I absolutely adore the everyday kind of mess in the background of the photos. It's nice to see that even stars' houses aren't spick-and-span clean. And wow, the one of her and her hubby all dressed up at the window is absolutely flawless.

In other news, I'm so so excited to see SPJ on the big screen again. In September comes a new movie, I Don’t Know How She Does It, where Parker plays "a financial executive and mother of two young children struggling to balance the pressures of her job with the needs of her family." I love real-life kind of movies and I'm ecstatic to see Parker play a role that she understands so well as a mother and wife.

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

This just in: Lady Gaga is bald. Did she pull a Britney a la 2007? Is it just a cap? Who knows. Mother Monster showed up for an acoustic performance of her new song "Hair" with a freshly shaved head. I think she'd look quite cute with a pixie cut faux-hawk going on once it grows back, if she did indeed shave her hair off.

Well, this for sure beats my photo of the haircut I got today...

I know we all get sick of our hair from time to time, but would you ever go completely bald?

Vogue Italia: Sign the Petition

"Vogue Italia, the magazine par excellence that deals with and promotes aesthetics and beauty, has decided to make use of its authority and its readers on the web (over one million of contacts per month), to battle against anorexia and collect signatures with the final goal of shutting such sites down.

"
- Franca Sozzani

I've come across sites like these and it's sickening. I sure don't want my future daughters, nieces, and young neighbors growing up reading these kinds of things. Young girls are easily influenced, so let's influence them to see their true beauty.

I've done my part...
Now do yours, and please sign it.

Kembrel

We all know the sites that offer you fabulous discounts on high-end items. Well, here's one more with a slightly different spin.

Kembrel was launched by students, for students.
It's a private shopping community that offers up huge discounts to its student members that last for 3.5 days. It's a great way to help students find fabulous new brands and save BIG. Some brands that have been previously available on Kembrel (just so you've got an idea) are Seven for All Mankind, Disney Couture, and Cheap Monday.

And it's that easy!

Kembrel has recently completed filming a summer toast entitled GET DRESSED... Summer 11.

"'Get Dressed' is a bright and cheery welcome to the upcoming glorious months filled with sun and without schoolwork. Shot in a warehouse-turned-loft apartment that overlooks Center City Philadelphia, 'Get Dressed' captures all the possibilities present with beautiful clothes, good friends, and a blazing barbecue. With a fun dance track created by Louisville indie band 'The Pass,' Kembrel's fashion film is a chic exploration of an impromptu rooftop party and a blossoming summer."

And the sweethearts at Kembrel have also created a coupon code just for my readers!
For an extra 15% off on any purchase on the site (gotta use that up in 30 days!), use the code: getdressed.

Also, don't forget to follow their blog, like them on Facebook, and of course follow them on Twitter!

You May Say I'm a Dreamer, But I'm Not the Only One

I'm not one to post about heavy hitting news, especially anything involving politics, but I feel as though I need to get this off of my chest.

Last night, I heard news that Osama Bin Laden had not only been found, but killed. I immediately became uneasy. I honestly didn't know what to think. This is huge news. I understand that he killed thousands of people in my country, but I don't know if I should feel happy to learn about his death.

Do I stand behind my own country, cheering on and supporting the people that have captured our number one most wanted enemy? Or do I remain active in my peaceful nature and feel disgusted by those people that are celebrating a death?

I went to bed last night feeling unsettled. All I could think about was that somewhere, followers of Bin Laden are already making plans to not only avenge his death, but harm the people of America in the process. I don't feel any safer. I feel scared. Of course I feel more than honored for the people that risk their lives for our safety, but I'm not sure that we as Americans have considered the repercussions for what has happened.

I can't bring myself to watch the news. Say what you'd like about that, but I think I'd rather live in my own peaceful little bubble where I imagine and pray that the world can live as one.

I'm sorry if this is all just babble to you. I'm not sure exactly how I feel, nevermind explain it. Maybe this song can better say what I'm trying to.

I'm Different, I Can't Base What I'm Gonna Be Off of What Everybody Isn't

Tank: Forever21; leggings: Marshall's; denim shirt: mum's; braided bracelet: H&M.

01. Keeping up on my readings... magazines, that is. It's a beautiful sunny day, but I am holding myself hostage in my bedroom. It may look pretty outside, but the truth of the matter is that it is somewhere around 19F degrees. I'd much rather spend my day under my comforter drinking warm coffee (read: third cup of it) than freezing my butt off outside! I am not moving until I go see the boy tonight. I'll deal with the cold just for him ;)

02. Decided to go without makeup or styled hair for these photos. Fresh out of the shower! It may not look the greatest, but it's good to give your hair and face a break sometimes. Idea inspired by Christina.

03. No one is home and I can't stop listening to amazing jams! Bass pumping, dance inducing... I'm dancing crazy all around my empty house. Love it! Some of my favorites: Usher ft Nicki Minaj - Lil Freak; Trey Songz ft Nicki Minaj - Bottoms Up; DEV ft the Cataracs - Bass Down Low.

04. I am proud to introduce you to my newest blog feature: Happiness 101! In case you missed it, check it out now! It's in the menu at the top of my blog. I've seen too much depressed posts and tweets that I figured I should give all of my viewers a piece of happiness. If you're feeling down, try out some of the tips. I stand by them all myself, and I can tell you that they're your sure fire way to cheering up.

05. A few lovelies to follow: Elle, Heather, Blake, and Meg.

PS: Hi, girls. Yes, you know who I'm talking about! It's really quite sweet that you're giving my blog views. Being that your IQs are all immensely high, I'm sure you're all aware that I can see stats about my blog and know what URLs click over to it. I quite honestly wish you all the best, and that you find something to fill your time rather than leaving less than appreciated comments on my blog. Until that happens (no pressure, it could take years!), I will continue to delete your rude comments. Nice try, but good ridance, loves.

If You Have to Cry, Go Outside

Wonderful advice from the fab Kelly Cutrone from her book "If You Have to Cry, Go Outside."

Have you read her book? I have, and two words: loved it.
What were your thoughts?

Uffie

While paging through the January issue of Nylon, I found an article about an electro-pop artist that I'd never before heard of, Uffie. After reading the short article, I immediately youtubed her because I love finding new and awesome jams to enjoy. She's got a collaboration with Diesel and they rave about her, saying "she is passionate, irreverent, and rock 'n' roll."

Whip My Feathers Back and Forth

CAN'T. EVEN.

Most amazing thing I've seen recently.

PS. I'll probably post something later tonight so I hope you all enjoy your day!
