1. Today's outfit: Mom's Martha's Vineyard jean button-down shirt, army green Old Navy tank, black leggings, and Steve Madden flats. Please ignore the clutter that is consuming the floor behind me... I'm in serious need of cleaning my spare room!

2. My newest addition! I absolutely love these Steve Madden flats, as seen in the first picture. They are my new bffs.

3. One of the books I'm currently reading. Ms Cutrone seriously cracks me up with her writing, but she's also got some really good advice on what it takes to be in the fashion business. I seriously recommend this book if you're interested in a fierce woman's take on the fashion world. Even if you're not into fashion, it's still a great book filled with great advice.

4. Have I told you that I'm a huge candle fiend? This is a very recent discovery. Currently burning: Butterscotch Toffee.

5. I went with my boyfriend and my brother to see Jackass 3D. It was funny as hell, but be warned that there is some nasty shit in this movie (literally), so if you have a weak stomach, I don't suggest going to see it. I was cracking up throughout the whole thing. Because I grew up with two older brothers, I can definitely handle disturbing and disgusting things haha.

6. Seeing as I have no creativity lately, I'm seriously considering just being a black kitty for Halloween. Original, right? At least I can have amazingly long and pretty lashes to vamp up my look. This will be my first time using false eyelashes, so hopefully I don't glue my eye shut!

7. My sweet tooth is killing me! I got these Reese's Pieces for the movies the other night but didn't eat them because I was too busy inhaling my Sweedish Fish. Instead, my boyfriend and I had them for breakfast while still in bed the morning after. Not my fault they're so yummy!

8. My current nail color and newest addition to my varnish collection: Sonia Kashuk "tauped." Me like! I did a very sloppy job applying it, though. Damn small brushes! But don't get me wrong, I do really love it!

9. Lasted iPhone game addiction: We Doodle! Oh my gosh, this game is hilarious. It's like Pictionary - you can play with other users online and they have a turn at drawing and you guess what it is in a certain amount of time, and vice versa. This lovely person decided to be cool and draw something they clearly were not getting as they were playing a sad little game on their iPhone. (And no - the sad part isn't actually playing, but drawing immature things!) Still, it made me laugh so I took a screen shot of it. Anyone know if that would be blood coming out of there? Hahaha.

metallic nails

As I was pondering through my mother's drawer of nail polish in search of a clear coat, I came across one of my older nail varnishes that I got YEARS ago and never opened because I wouldn't even think of wearing it. Well I instantly grabbed it and gave it a shot because, as you've seen in the fashion world, metallics are IN. As you can see, it's an older Sally Hansen varnish because of the bottle shape, but it still worked splendidly. And another reason to love it - it has a matte finish! There's no shine which is perfect because, hello, it's shiny enough! If you can find it in stores still, I highly suggest purchasing it as it's one of my new favorites!

grass slipper

if there's one drugstore brand I love, it's Sally Hansen! her complete salon manicure varnishes are some of the best I've ever used. she has a great variety of colors and shades, and the wider brush makes it so easy to apply! this color caught my eye and I knew it must be added to my collection right away! it is a brilliant green color called grass slipper. after the first coat, I was feeling a little iffy about the color, as I didn't think it went well with my skin tone. but I embraced the color and I adore it! I've been very much into greens and blues lately, so it ended up being a great pick.

miami beet

OPI has quite the selection for nail varnishes! I stood in the store for about 10 minutes just deciding which ones I liked best. after glancing at "miami beet," I kew it was a winner. I haven't had a great berry-colored polish in a while.  it is named so appropriately. it's a dark, deep pink/purple color, almost like a cranberry. the last photo is the more appropriate one for showing the actual color. the way OPI applies is flawless! the brush is amazing for application and the varnish glides on so easily.

fresh as a mint

ladies and gentlemen, i have been minted! i found a new polish that i absolutely love! revlon's "minted" nail varnish. who says you can't wear pastels in the fall?

outtake (i can never get my right hand to look good because i am right handed, not left!... this is what i get before fixing all the messiness hehe):

so, here's my take on it: it's a total pain to apply because it's such a light color, but as with all polishes, it looks a million times better after a second coat. that second coat is time consuming, i know, but it's totally worth it because the color is just lovely. i love this cool color for the crisp autumn season!

anyways, i bought some new polish today! sally hansen xtreme wear in "wet cement" and it's safe to say i am completely in love with the gray trend that's budding up this fall. this polish is very easy to apply, even to my right hand when i am most certainly NOT a lefty. the formula works very well and goes on smoothly and evenly. i did only one coat and it wasn't even streaky [my camera didn't really capture the non-streakyness and correct color! it's a bit darker in person.] this color will match everything and anything in your wardrobe, so give it a go!

 ps, please don't mind how vile my cuticles look! they're awful lately.
