Solestruck

My boyfriend would probably refer to some of these as "cinderblocks" or just completely heinous, but I am a-okay with that (thank you Man Repeller for some serious inspiration)! I simply cannot help myself... I need these in my life.

Forever and Always

Now that I've finally gotten a decent check from working over spring break, I went on a mini shopping trip! I wasn't aiming to buy much of anything, just browse. I actually found some cute basics at TJ Maxx. I was there for so long drooling over some gorgeous purses they had in stock, but we all know I can't afford anything right now as a poor college student. My basic (read: pretty uninteresting) buys are down below, basically just showing you the colors and such; I'm trying to slowly but surely add color into my wardrobe. (And I also added a new baby to my collection of mugs! Always looking for more. This one is of Paris.) Anyway, here is what I wore today while out gallivanting. Apologies for my douchey facial expressions.

Pink tank top - Urban Outfitters; sweatshirt - American Eagle; jacket - Marshall's; jeans - Macy's; shoes: Rue 21; bag - H&M; spoon rings - made by my daddy

Tory Burch Japan Relief T-Shirt

Inspired by the national flag of Japan, Tory Burch has designed a t-shirt available to Rue La La's community to support the relief efforts in Japan.

"100% of the net proceeds of every Japan Relief T-shirt sold will go to the American Red Cross to benefit the Japan earthquake and Pacific tsunami relief efforts"

I've just placed my purchase, now what are you waiting for?

Beautiful Things

A small collection of things I'd like to buy and make. I know, I know, I always say I'll do some DIYs but I'm a busy girl, what can I say? Enjoy this lovely eye candy.

Inspiration

Great looks for transitioning into spring! Thank god it's right around the corner, hm? Well, at least once this snow stops. I swear, New England, I will leave you if there is any more white stuff falling from the sky until next winter! Anyway, I'm just a simple gal. Simple makes me happy. So obviously these outfits are making me excited for the future sunshine.

Closet Makeover

As I was flipping through the channels the other day, I came across something that had to do with fashion, so, DUH, I kept it on. It was the Nate Berkus Show (never heard of it before now), and they were giving this woman a closet overhaul for under $150. I was utterly amazed at how many outfits they could make out of the basics she had in her closet and the pieces they bought! Lilliana Vazquez showed the world how to create a months worth of outfits all for about $130. And I can actually see myself wearing quite a few of the outfits come spring.

White tank and printed scarf

Printed Skirt and Striped T-Shirt

Black or Grey Sheath Dress and Bright Skinny Belt
Printed Blazer and White Jeans

Dark Jeans and Black or Grey Skirt

Bright Blouse and Bright Cardigan

Black Pants and Bright Flats

And here is Liliana Vasquez... How cute is she?! She was wearing a gorgeous tan blazer paired with nude heels and a printed top. She looked so lovely and put together, yet still fun. I looked this bad mama up and found out she has a BLOG - good lord! So check it out here.

JS Dany Platforms

About two months ago, I bought two pairs of Jessica Simpson Dany platforms, and, quite honestly, the height of these puppies scare me! So, alas, I am selling them. If nobody here claims them, I'll put them up for sale on Ebay. Until I can get my hands on my camera (currently sitting in the drawer of my desk at my desolate school in the midst of spring break), these webcam photos will have to suffice. Feel free to zoom in on the pictures for more detail.

Generally sold at $98.00, I'm asking for $70 +shipping per pair.
If you're interested, please leave a comment below or email me at aimee2012@gmail.com

Gotta love crude Nicki Minaj lyrics!

Sweater: Decades Past, bracelets: Jewel Mint

Hey, darlings! I'm here right now asking for any type feedback, ideas or suggestions you have regarding my wittle blog. What do you like that I do? What don't you like? Am I updating too much? Too little? I'm all ears, so let me know! It'd be a huge help. Thank you!

PS. Boyfriend says hi! He's so cute.

Get Well Soon

The title of this post packs a double whammy punch. I've got good news and bad news.

Good news:
- It's spring break! A whole entire week of no classes?! I don't know what to do with myself.
- I've lost a few pounds, and I am very excited! I've been working hard at the gym, and I'm glad it's starting to pay off.
- I'm determined to do these little projects this week, I swear!

Bad news:
- I'm sick... again. Or maybe still? I'm not sure, but either way, I'm miserable (case in point, the picture). I've decided to stay in bed for the remainder of the night with my new bff, otherwise known as a box of tissues.
- I woke up to find that Mount Everest has taken up residence on my forehead. Thankfully (for Picnik), I was able to edit the little darling out.
- I feel horrible for even considering anything of this list "bad news" compared to what's happened in Japan. My hearts go out to all of you who have been affected. If you have no idea about the effects of the disasters that struck in Japan, read Rumi Neely's post for a first-hand account. If you would like to help Japan in their time of grief, donate to the Red Cross here.

Rainy Day Women

Another rainy day... Spring must be right around the corner! My severe lack of posting has been due to my rising stress level - midterm week is here! Spring break starts this Friday (at exactly 10:20am, woohoo!) so I've just got to make it until then...

Green button up shirt: Macy's, denim shirt: Mom's, leggings: Marshall's, boots: UGG Australia, earrings: Target, nail polish: Sally Hansen Lavender Cloud

In other news...
♥ I finally received my Love Suzie jewelry and am patiently awaiting my Decades Past and JewelMint orders! Psyched. Have I mentioned that I am beyond poor, now?
♥ If you have an iPhone, follow me on Instagram!
♥ Brownie points to anyone who knows where the title of this post comes from!

PS. In case you were wondering, I have made absolutely no progress on the DIY bracelets from my last post. Last weekend was filled with studying (read: eating and the likes). Oops! I'll get them done during spring break, I swear!

Weekend Challenge

I've been super lazy lately. I see so much going on around me and it all makes me feel unproductive. So this weekend, being that I forgot to call in and tell my boss I'd be around to work (oops), I'm going to take a stab at some cute DIY projects. I'm hoping that I will not only feel productive by the end of Sunday, but I'll have some cute new bracelets (my new obsession) to wear!

First up: Woven Chain Bracelet

Second: Braided Hex Nut Bracelet

Third: Satin Cord Bracelet

So hopefully by the end of this weekend I'll have some lovely, colorful new bracelets to show you all! Wish me luck.

PS. I just purchased this cable knit sweater from Decades Past... how cute?!
