Au Revoir to 2010

01. Oh, what a fabulously sunny day this is! I really expexted the clouds to be out and about, scouting our small little New England town, threatening us with the possibility of snow. But I'm happy that quite a bit of the snow seems to be melting!

02. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but how cute is my new sweater? This photo was actually taken in the dressing room the day I bought it (I'm far too lazy to make myself look decent enough for pictures tonight!) I tried on a whole pile of potential sweaters but this was the clear winner out of the bunch. I don't normally do turtlenecks but this darling was loose in all the right places and fits me perfectly the way I'd like. I've come to the conclusion that I own too many articles of clothing that are gray, tan, or black, but I love my neutrals. The search has been on for the perfect bulky sweaters to keep me warm in this terrible Massachusetts winter, so this baby crosses one item off my list!

03. I really wish I had a beautiful outfit to show you for New Years Eve celebrations, but tonight will be a night of sweatpants. I'm on the schedule to work tomorrow at 5:30am. I still plan on staying up until midnight to watch the ball drop and celebrate with a glass of champagne and my second New Years kiss with my boyfriend, but I assume I'll be in bed sometime before 1am. So sad... At least I can hope for good tips tomorrow morning from customers feeling sorry for me!

04. Last but certainly not least, thank you to my wonderful boyfriend who made 2010 the best year I could ever ask for. Yay for being a giant mush ball right now!

Hope you all have a great New Years Eve!

My Ego Is My Imaginary Friend, She Was with Me When I Was Only Imagining

Tan sweater: H&M; dark gray sweatshirt: Forever 21; jeans: Forever 21; scarf: Forever 21; belt: H&M; boots: UGG Australia; claddagh ring: unknown; spoon ring: made by Daddy; snake ring: Calico; blue stone ring: thrifted.

01. Layers, layers, layers are my best friend right now! It is freaking cold outside and that makes a very unhappy Aimee. In addition to finding items in my closet that actually match to layer, I end up looking like a puffalump all bundled up! Which is my reason (other than having nothing else to do) for going shopping in a bit! All the gift cards I recieved for Christmas are totally going to come in handy today. I have to remind myself that I need basics to help my wardrobe out! Sweaters I can layer, long sleeved shirts with a bit of flair, perhaps some outerwear.

02. I feel like a terrible, terrible blogger lately. Tell me it isn't so! This whole past couple of weeks have been a bit crazy, having me run around picking up last-minute gifts and getting ready for all the Christmas gatherings! I feel so off track in the whole blogging world. Hopefully I'll be able to blog a bit more soon because, quite honestly, I miss it!

03. With 2010 coming to a close, it's really got me wondering... What are your resolutions for the new year? Mine so far: revamp my closet, make the deans list, learn how to do a pretty smokey eye, and become more patient.

Winter Freakin' Wonderland

I hope all of you darlings had a wonderful Christmastime! I hope you stuffed your bellies to the brim and recieved some awesome gifts from Santa. I sure did! I'll post my gifts later, because right now I am full of Monkey Bread (mum makes it every year for Christmas!) and a bit tired of all things Christmas. I usually am more cheerful around the holidays, but right now I am thankful that it's over! Too many places to go, too many things to wrap, too much to do! So I've taken it upon myself today to just veg out in sweatpants and relax. Perhaps play a bit of Little Big Planet!

I know, I said I'm glad Christmas is over, but I'd still like to know...
...tell me what your favorite gift was this year!

PS here are some pictures of the last snowfall, as we're currently getting hit with a Noreaster and there is no way I'm going outside to take photos in this mess!

Pity Me

I think someone with a very contaigous cold might have coughed directly into my mouth. Last night started out with me being super excited - I recieved an email that my Urban Outfitters package had been sent out! I was with my boyfriend watching the Polar Express and BAM - instant sore throat. Seriously, that effer came out of nowhere! I kept on thinking that if I complained enough, a package of Halls honey-lemon cough drops would appear out of thin air. It didn't happen. After sulking for what I thought was just short of "too much," I left my boyfriends house and stopped at a convenient store to buy my new little saviors. I fell asleep holding onto them dearly, and I woke up with a not only a worse sore throat, but my eyes may as well be crusted over and my entire body is just sore. What good are you, Halls?! I would have posted this in video form but due to my sore throat, talking feels like hell. And I will not be posting pictures today because along with feeling like hell, I look like hell.

Anyway, sorry for me complaining but I even had to call out of work, which means no money, which means I've got to wait even longer to buy myself a macbook. Which leads me to a question...

...Which Apple product should I get? Macbook or the Macbook Pro?

By the way... I really really wish I had all of these DVDs so I could sit on the couch all day and watch them.

And by the way, how GORGEOUS is this snake ring (just in!) and gray circle scarf I got at Calico today?
Love!

Shenanigans

Wish I could be all cool and pose outside in the snow in a pretty outfit, but no! No photographer, no tripod, no motivation. So instead, here is a pointless outfit of the day because I am all cozied up in a big sweatshirt, leggings, and slippers. I should be cleaning the mess that has become my room, but instead I've been up to this mumbo jumbo. I am a true procrastinator.

Sweatshirt: vintage; leggins: Forever 21; slippers: Joe Boxer for Kmart

No Telling Where It'll Take You, Just Live Your Life

I found this cute little tag on Laura's blog and, being that I can never resist things such as these, I decided to do it! I went sort of picture crazy, so bear with me...

1. What's your dream job?
Something definitely in the fashion industry! Working for a magazine company is one of my many hopes in life. Whether it's journalism, graphic design, public relations... Even interning to get damn coffee for the higher-ups would be absolutely wonderful! I'd like it to be in a nice city - Boston, NYC, Providence... We'll see!

2. What is your favorite fragrance for winter?
I really like Miss Dior Cherie, since there's a bit more of a musky scent to it.

3. How do you take your tea/coffee?
I take my tea with a bit of milk and two sugars. Same with my coffee! Unless I'm mixing it up and making myself a cafe mocha, I just mix the coffee with a packet of hot cocoa.

4. What is your most important beauty secret?
Treat your skin/hair/body nicely and it will do the same to you. Also, drink lots of water to keep your entire body moisturized.

5. If you had an all expenses paid vacation anywhere, where would you go?
Oh, gosh! I would jump from place to place... London, Paris, Germany, Ireland, Italy... I want to travel the world one day.

6. If a genie popped in your lap right now and offered you three wishes, what would they be?
Wish one would be for a brand new Macbook with everything on it that I need! Wish two would be for snow on Christmas. And wish three would be, if at all possible, to instill some motivation into myself.

7. If you could only have breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert foods for the rest of your life, which one would you pick?
Lobster lobster lobster! I suppose that would be dinner. French toast with the works for breakfast - hashbrowns, eggs, bacon... Oh gosh. And lunch, probably something simple like a salad to start with and a chicken salad sandwich.

8. If you had to pick a famous person for your other half to meet, who would you choose for them?
Milan Lucic from the Boston Bruins, #17. I swear he'd marry him if he could.

9. What is your biggest makeup pet peeve?
Personally, my unsteady hand really pisses me off. When I'm applying mascara to my lashes and it gets everywhere.. that's upsetting. As for other people, I don't really have anything against people who do their makeup differently than the "norm." Whatever floats your boat!

10. If you could only wear one piece of jewelry for the rest of your life, what would it be?
My boyfriend gave me a lovely key (to my heart!) necklace for my birthday this past July and I've worn it ever since. I don't take it off for anything. So that's one. I assume that if and when I get married, I won't be taking off my rings for anything.

11. What one talent do you wish you had?
I wish I could cook. I know it's a talent you have to obtain through practice, but in all honesty, thinking about cooking just sounds to me like work, not playtime. I wish I loved cooking, and had the patience to learn. I don't like relying on people for things, and once I've moved out of my house and get an apartment, I'd like to know how to feed myself! I'm sure cereal and grilled cheese will get old, fast.

12. The product you will continue to purchase?
Two words - dry shampoo! I will forever hault all showering just so I can use dry shampoo. It's so easy! It makes your hair look fresh and healthy when you don't have the time (or effort) to wash. Best thing since sliced bread, I'm telling you.
13. If you could look into the future, would you?  What would you want to know?
No way, Jose! I like sponteneity and seeing that would just be totally weird for me.

14. Who is your biggest celebrity crush?  (Include pictures)
George Clooney definitely gets my heart pitter-pattering... Mark Wahlberg is also pretty delish.

15. What made you start a blog?
I started looking at blogs quite a while ago, and I was just in awe of what these girls did! And I've always been interested in design, so I'd judge their blogs and think, hey, I could totally do this, and way better! Yes, I can be vain sometimes. So that's when it started!

I tag anybody who'd like to do this!

Tis the Season...

...For festive holiday pictures! Now, I'm not here to complain about how I've eaten one too many cake balls, or that the desserts that keep popping up are just undeniably delicious. And I'm also not here to complain about the fact that, with six days left until Christmas, Massachusetts has yet to see any snow fall!

But I am most importantly NOT complaining about meeting the newest addition to my family - my baby cousin Mia! She is so adorable and I can't believe it's taken three months for me to meet the little darling. She is so well-tempered and makes the cutest little noises when she's not sucking on two of her fingers. I wish I got a picture of that! But below you will see one of the many gifts we got for her very first Christmas. Totally what I'd dress my baby with if I had one!

Cake balls - my mum and my first attempt at making the scruptious little things. She found the recipe on The Blackberry Vine. How cute is my mum for looking at blogs?! I should have pictured these cut in half as well, because the red velvet inside had me drooling.

I love that this picture came out the way it did. I didn't mean for it to be bokeh-esque, but I love it! This is our Christmas tree, if you couldn't tell.

HOW PRECIOUS?!

Anyway, I'm sure I'll be popping up on Blogger quite a bit over the next few days because I'm not working from now until Wednesday afternoon! So that will be quite the nice little break before the holiday craziness.

Uffie

While paging through the January issue of Nylon, I found an article about an electro-pop artist that I'd never before heard of, Uffie. After reading the short article, I immediately youtubed her because I love finding new and awesome jams to enjoy. She's got a collaboration with Diesel and they rave about her, saying "she is passionate, irreverent, and rock 'n' roll."

I'm not bitter, I'm semi-sweet

Today's outfit is so so casual and cozy because I've literally done nothing all day but read my new Nylon magazine that came in the mail. Exciting, right? Soon I'll be changing into my sexy sexy work clothes - coffee stained jeans, oversized t-shirt, and sneakers! SO sexy! Anyways, I've finally gotten up off my lazy bum and made a youtube video! I felt the need to add a little more of my personality to the blog, and I figured this would be right up my alley. I apologize in advance for the overuse of "um" and "like" and just being awkward in general. Enjoy and don't forget to subscribe to my channel for future videos!

All I Want Is to Hold You Forever

Sweater: thrifted; Jeans: Forever21; Bracelet: handmade by Daddy; Earrings: Target.

Sorry for the terrible pictures, but I could find no place else to take some of my outfit! We're currently re-doing our dining room (previously my brother's room) so ignore the bareness and the terrible lighting. I'm also slightly sick of having no remote for my camera, so let's hear it for awkward poses that take 10 seconds to create with my camera's self timer!

So, good news! After being on a brief hiatus because of poor grades last semester, I've gotten my act together, reapplied, and am officially a student come January! Not excited to spend all of my Macbook fund on books, but college expenses are ridiculous! Anyways, I was actually at school this weekend because it was one of my best friend's 20th birthday on Saturday! We took the train into Boston and had dinner at Fire & Ice. It was so so yummy, and I'm surprised we all made it to our reservation on time. Also surprised we navigated the T! I've been on it probably twice before because I hardly ever go into Boston, but at least now we all know how to get there so I'm sure we'll be going all the time next semester for shopping! After dinner, we made our way back to school and hung around the dorm with other friends and had a typical college Saturday night. The only downside to the night was that one of my friends that was also visiting got food poisoning... stupid Fire & Ice! She was so sick, but hid out in the birthday girl's room to rest. The next day, the birthday girl and I went shopping at the mall because, seeing as only two pairs currently fit me, I needed an extra pair of jeans so badly! I actually bought three at Forever 21 and the total came to about $35... FOR THREE PAIRS. That is crazy crazy! And they fit me perfectly. I'm a happy camper.

Shopping was hard to hold back on! I tried on more than just jeans, of course, but I knew I couldn't be spending money. Besides, I've made an agreement with myself that I will not be going shopping from now until I've lost 10-15 pounds. I sure do love my shopping, so hopefully this will work for me! I know, I know, I'm not fat! But I am so totally unhappy with myself that I've cried so many times over my appearance and quite frankly I'm sick of looking the way I do. Call me crazy, so be it. I don't think anybody is perfectly happy with the way their body is.

Anyways, hope you all are enjoying your Monday!

I Ain't Got No Red American Express

But if I did...

Ah, if only I had unlimited amounts of money in my bank account! They really need to learn how to make money grow on trees.
