Jessica Simpson Danys: There Will Be Blood

I came, I saw, I... fell.

I've always wanted to don my beautiful pair of Jessica Simpson Dany platforms, duh, which is why I bought them in the first place. (Okay, I bought two... And one pair was sold a few weeks ago! Lucky girl!) I've constantly been trying to incorporate them into my outfits, but it never seems to work out.

Well, I recently learned that flouncing around in these babies are a really bad idea. Like, horribly bad.
My cat even laid there, watching me. She didn't seem concerned when I hit the ground. That bitch!

Denim shirt: Nantucket Knee Pants, romper: Marshall's, belt: H&M, shoes: JS Dany

Just call me Casper. No, now is not the time to make fun of my white ghostly legs. I can't take any more emotional pain!

At least I learned now the consequences of wearing these shoes in private rather than in public where everyone would laugh at my poor poor knee.
Feel free to pity me.

Girls Who Dare to Bare

Girls Who Dare to Bare: The idea is that one should be comfortable showing his or her skin for how it truly is. before all of the cosmetics we plaster onto our skin. Do we really need it? Who says we must attain perfection? Perfection isn't real.

Alyse of Integrating Alyse has begun posting "Girls Who Dare to Bare," a weekly feature that shows three lovely ladies who have shown their true beauty, sans makeup. Alyse has wonderful words to say about it, so check out her post.

So, without further adieu, my contribution to GWDTB.

Before

I'm bitchy pmsing and should have more breakouts appearing soon, so I decided to showcase my bare skin before this happens. As you can see, I have a few blemishes and general unevenness (did I just make up a word?) on my skin. I also have a bit of rosiness on my chin and lower cheeks.

After

A bit more put together, though not much different! My blemishes are covered and my complexion looks a bit more even. I'm a natural-look kinda gal, so sorry there's no dramatic makeup shown here.

Products used (from start to finish):
 Benefit Boiing concealer in 01
Cover Girl fresh complexion pocket powder in 605 Ivory
No7 Cheek Color in 12 Coral Flush
Cover Girl eye enhancers (no idea of the name, but the color is a light brown)
Bare Escentuals Big Tease mascara in dark chocolate
Burts Bees beeswax lip balm

Free People

Free People is swimming with beautiful clothing at the moment. (When are they not?)
So many of the pieces would make any woman wearing them so delicate and lovely. Something about the way the material drapes on the body and the color allows the skin to shine, it all is just so feminine.

All of these pieces make me want to lounge in the sunlight and enjoy a good book.

Hello, Sexy Summer Hair

In Glamour's June issue, they've shown us how to do summer hair the right way, including the faux bob, the new Bardot, and the 5-minute bun.

Click the pictures to read the directions on how to get your hair to look just as pretty as these ladies.

Ah, the Color of Friendship

First and foremost... Happy summer to me! Jealous? I bet.

Do you love fashion jewelry? I love fashion jewelry. So much that I bought myself some lovely friendship bracelets. Nothing makes me happier than seeing hardware mixed together with some pretty colors. Damn, I am so on trend, people.

First up: the neutrals
Both from Macy's

Second: the brights
Both from JC Penney

All of these lovelies added together cost me under $35. Are there bells ringing in your head? DEAL DEAL DEAL.
Now head on over to your local Macy's and JC Penney because I'm sure there will be a plethora of bracelets just like these to buy your pretty little self.

Cheap Alternatives: the Birkin

"I want to be rich, and I want lots of money..."
Lily Allen's "The Fear" is definitely floating about in my head at the moment.

We've all seen the coveted Hermes Birkin bag in photographs, hanging delicately on the arms of Victoria Beckham, Rachel Zoe, and the Kardashian sisters. The structure, the material, the metal hardware... Whether it's a neutral color to match everything or a bright, zesty color to make any outfit pop, it's hard to go against the following statement: it's a beauty.

And now it can be yours! Well, not really. But we can pretend, right?

Aldo offers some really great deals on some lovely looking structured bags that seem to have been designed with Birkin in mind. You won't find the amazingness that IS Birkin, obviously, but these are a great and (much) cheaper alternative to a pretty, structured bag.

Find (and BUY!) them here.

Photo Log: Finals Edition

Writing this post is unthinkable at this time. I've come to realize that I will do anything (including sleep) to stay away from the textbooks and notebooks...

It's finals week. I could cry.

So here's me letting you know why I haven't had too many fabulous posts as of late.
By the way, I love me some instagram!

Enjoying the beautiful weather (when I can)

Reading too much Nylon Magazine... But how cute are those sunglasses?!
I need some (knockoffs) STAT.

Finals week is slowly killing me.

And this is how I've gotten by... Red Bull, a bit of partying, and painting my nails (color: Myrtille by Sephora) to ease some tension.

Bought these flowers for my boyfriend's mother... so beautiful! Nothing like some pretty flowers to cheer you up.

Obligatory switching up of the fruit... I mean, come on, how could I not?

Et voila.

I sincerely hope that you're having more fun this week than I am!
